Facebook: How to work within the business manager

Q. Why would you get an invite from a Facebook business manager?

A. When working with another party on your social media it is often handled through a Business Manager. There is one set up by the business and they request access to the company page which allows people inside their organization to add and remove people without them being added directly to your page. This means increased control for the owner of the page because if they remove the Business Manager then the users within it will no longer have access.

Q. Once you receive the invite from the company you're working with to grant access to your business page, where is it?

A. The invite usually shows up in one of a couple places depending on the Facebook format you're currently on.

  • It can be found under the bell icon/ notification section, where you can click to review and approve.
  • Under business settings you can review "requests" and review any open invitations.
  • Occasionally you'll sometimes see it in the email associated to your Facebook user.
    • It is normal for Facebook to ask you to very your password again when approving access for someone.

Q. Why would you add a partner to your Facebook business manager?

A. Adding a partner to your business manager can allow other business that you work with, such as agencies, to collaborate by granting them access tto your assets like pages, ad accounts, and pixels without sharing any personal login information. This enables people to help manage the social media presence, create and run ads, publish content, analyze performance, and save you time while you focus on other aspects of your business.

Q. Is the business manager the same as an ads manager?

A. While they do work similarly in that they provide access to go to one place, but having access to the business manager does not guarantee you have access to the ads manager. You can put people in the ads manager if they are specifically working within the ads manager and if they are not, there isn't a need to have access to the ads manager.
