To change the sales commission on an account, you must have developer-level access to the system. Once you do, you will have the ability to view these fields in the Advanced tab. You will find them in the bottom right corner of every account.
To change a sales commission, simply insert the commission rate in the Level 1 or Level 2 commission fields. The technology only allows for round numbers. Please round to the nearest whole number.
To determine who will receive that commission, look at the referral tree below the two fields. Note that Melty - Corp. is the customer on the account. The business is listed with a green icon in front of it. The Level 1 sales commission will got to the sales professional listed above the customer, Social PR Growth. In this scenario, Social PR Growth will receive an 8% commission on all non-advertising revenue associated with that account.
So who is the Level 2 recipient? Simply click on Social PR Growth's name and it will show you. It will take you to Social PR Growth's account in the Social5 Backend System, where you will see John Foote listed above him. John Foote is the Level 2 recipient. He will receive 3% of all non-advertising revenue associate with the account.
Please adjust commissions for all new accounts to ensure that commissions are being paid on gross margin. As a general rule, the gross margin on an account is 50%. This means the employee's commission will be reduced from 15% to 7.5%. Because our system only recognizes whole numbers, you would round up to 8% on the account.
