It is impossible for Social5 to be aware of all scams that are going on at any given time.

However, if we are made aware of one that we are seeing a lot of activity on we do try to let people know about it and strongly encourage you to be diligent in your cyber security awareness so that you are not a victim of phishing scams.

Recently we are noticing an uptick in phishing scams through Facebook.

Some are coming through FB Messages and could be in their inbox in Facebook or could go to email, but they are not really from Facebook.

Facebook will not reach out to you in a message on your site or in an email on your account.

Their goal is to get you to click on the link or the attachment - Do Not Click the link or attachment.

Here are a couple examples of some of the messaging we have seen going out that is a scam:

It may say it is from something at Facebook or something about a policy or report, here are a couple examples that we have seen recently (some even have a very similar logo to FB):

Most social media companies, including Facebook, are not going to warn you about your page being closed and they aren't going to ask for you to verify anything. The scammers want you to click on the link or the attachment and then they can access tons of information on your computer, your network, your accounts, etc. Please do not click on any of these messages, links, attachments, etc.

Also, Social5 may reach out to you and ask for an updated password to a social media channel, but it will come from [email protected] in an email, not ever in your social media channel or profiles.

Please feel free to share this information with your teams internally.

Thank you,
